To keep my feet firmly on the ground
To visualise my past through a person
That I still loved

You said: Please recall the first time
That you felt you’d be together
I knew at that moment
As my tears flowed: My longing

Under the tree as our Sun rose
Heads and hearts aligned
Reading aloud to each other
The mysteries of the East

Everybody knows this

You asked me what I would say
To the young girl living inside of me
As a child again, I spoke to myself
And I told her it’s going to be ok
